Over the years, our staff have made presentations to various community and school groups, but I think yesterday was the first time we've talked to four-year-olds. Yes, the pre-kindergarten class at Scuola Vita Nuova Charter School is learning about architecture and construction. Kathy Burke talked to the students in Mr. Nick Pettit's (Mr. Nick) class about what an architect does and and how we work with builders and construction firms. Kathy came away impressed by how engaged his young students were in a field that can be complicated. Below is an example of the class learning about buildings and floorplans. Thanks to SVN and Mr. Nick to inviting us to have our own fieldtrip to your school.
