At the end of 2008, our Chicago office made a donation to Ms. Vilcins' 6th grade class to help them make videos to raise awareness about their community's littering problem. The donation was through an organization called Donor's Choose. Click "Read More" for additional photos and info.

We recived thank you notes from Ms. Vilcins and her students, but we want to thank them for taking an active role in their community while helping the environment. The following is one of the notes.

Dear Gastinger Walker Harden Architects,

Thank you for providing my students with a video camera. Our school's Green Team students have been using the camera to create videos spotlighting the two issues they chose to focus on: littering and recycling. One group of students used the camera to record a public service announcement about the litter problem in the school community. They took on the role of investigative reporters as they shot video of the trash littering the school yard. The other group of students used the camera to record a "how-to recycle" video. We are going to showcase the videos at an expo at a museum at the end of the month. The kids are really excited about it, and so am I! Your kindness and generosity is truly appreciated. Thank you!
