8 year old Shuva Kharna lives happily with his siblings and parents in their new home in Ashapur, West Bengal.
Thanks to a donation by the staff of Gastinger Walker Harden Architects, the Khanra family has a new home. At the end of 2007, the staff of Gastinger Walker Harden Architects made a gift to one of their clients, Children International. The small gift was enough for Shuva and his family to enjoy the comfort and safety of a Children International model house.
As a nonprofit humanitarian organization, Children International focuses on easing the burdens placed on impoverished children. Their caring sponsors and donors give poor children from around the world an opportunity at a better life. They currently serve over 300,000 children in 11 countries with a goal of increasing their sponsorships to 400,000 by 2011. Gastinger Walker Harden Architects is a full service architecture, interior design and planning firm founded in 1981 with offices in Chicago and Kansas City. The firm serves a select group of clients in the corporate, educational, housing and healthcare markets.
